Governor Ikpeazu Felicitates With Former Senate President At 73

The Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has sent a goodwill message to former President of the Senate, Distinguished Senator Adolphus Wabara, GCON on his 73rd birthday today, June 1st, 2021.

In a statement signed by Sir Onyebuchi Ememanka, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor on the above date, Dr. Ikpeazu describes Senator Wabara as one of the most outstanding political leaders from Abia State whose political sagacity took Abia to the pinnacle of the Nigerian political firmament.

The Governor recalls the political trajectory of Senator Wabara from his days as elected Chairman of Ukwa East Local Government Areas and his steady rise to a Senator and then his emergence as Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Governor Ikpeazu says he is happy that the Senator has continued to place his rich repertoire of experience in politics and leadership at the disposal of the Government and People of Abia State.

As the current Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Abia State University, Ikpeazu disclosed that the Senator has brought stability to the University and has helped translate the visions of the Governor at the University.

Senator Adolphus Wabara is also the Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the PDP where he remains a source of strength and cohesion to the party at the federal level, at the Southeast level ad at the state level.

The Governor is particularly grateful that Senator Wabara has remained to him, an elder brother and adviser whose wise counsel has consistently come in handy during challenging periods.

Governor Ikpeazu, on behalf of his family, the Government, and the people of Abia State, wish the Senator a very happy birthday and prays the Almighty God to grant him many more years of service to the people of Abia State and Nigeria.
