You cannot talk about Gospel music without having the name Ada Ehi popping up now and then. Ada Ehi’s music is on the top level of charts in the music industry. Ada Ehi is one of the most popular gospel alternative-rock music guru in the Nigerian gospel music world.
One could rightly say that Gospel music runs in her as she started pursuing her goals right from a very tender age.
With over 11 singles (“I Overcame”, “Bobo me”, “Only You Jesus”, “Our God Reigns”, “I Testify”, “Cheta”, among others) which are currently making wave, gospel artiste, Ada Ehi is touching lives through her songs.
In the beginning
Ada Ehi was born Ada Ogochukwu on the 18th day of September 1987, she was born in Lagos. She is originally from this damsel hails from Imo State. Her musical career started at a very tender age, she was only 10 years old. Due to her love for music, she was recruited as a backup singer for “child star” Tosin Jegede.
There is this special God-given talent bestowed on everyone on earth but discovering them is key to your glory, Ada Ehi discovered her’s and decided to use it and praise her creator who blessed her with such a wonderful talent.
Ada Ehi is one of the most beautiful Gospel artists in records, she also does songwriting, recording, and performances, this shows that she is a queen when it comes to Gospel music as she has almost all the skills to make a music boom.
It was during her undergraduate studies at the Lagos State University, in the Department of Chemical & Polymer Engineering that she joined a Christian fellowship tagged “Believers Loveworld Campus Fellowship” which ignited her into becoming a part of the Christ Embassy’s Choir team.
The Christ Embassy’s Choir molded her until she became a full member of the Christ Embassy Presidential Choir. Since becoming part of the Christ Embassy Choir team, she has been actively involved in the growth of Music Ministry of Christ Embassy, she also made performances at Christ Embassy programs/ events Across the world including America, Europe and many African nations.
Of course, this was a fresh start for her, it was a welcome development as she used the platform to begin her international music career.
She is married to Moses Ehi who also doubles as a manager. She got married in 2008 when she was just 20, proving to many that marriage, as an institution, is not, as many may have painted it, the graveyard of talents and creativity. One can still reach the peak of their career even with a band in their ring finger.
Career
The ever-rising Gospel queen, Ada Ehi professionally started her music career under the umbrella of “Loveworld Records” in the year 2009, since then her popularity has been on the increase. She has gained local and international popularity through her music videos and Gospel songs as she is well-known on the international gospel music scene.
Like they say “Pride comes before a downfall”, this is not so for Ada Ehi as she is an epitome of humility, she has no pride in her and that is why she is rising from glory to glory. Ada Ehi often says that she doesn’t strive for fame but her fame comes from the glory of God.
Today, Ada Ehi Could boast of countless awards in her name, among the list of her awards was a 2017 award, where she was included in YNaija ‘s list’ of Hundred Influential Christian Personalities in the country Nigeria.

She also emerged as the winner of a 2017 Groove Awards; West African Artist of the Year 2017, she was nominated alongside Joe Praize, Sinach, Frank Edwards and the Preachers. Her song titled ‘Only You’ was also listed as among the 20 most viewed Songs of the decade from Nigeria in the year 2019.
Similar to the night and day, Ada Ehi has grown and got better as a songwriter, composer, and performer.
