On Thursday morning, the Ukrainian military said that it had shot down five Russian fighter planes.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, the military reportedly said that a Russian helicopter was also shut down.
Hundreds of Russian servicemen are expected to have been killed in the event, according to Ukraine’s defense spokeswoman.

As you may recall, Russia declared on Thursday morning that it had damaged Ukrainian military airbases and air defense systems.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, Russia’s defense ministry informed them of this.
The defence ministry announced in a statement that “military infrastructure at Ukrainian army aviation sites has been rendered inoperable.”
The Ministry added that Kyiv’s air defence systems were also “eliminated”.
This is coming hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a military offensive against Ukraine.
