Notorious Bandits Killed In Benue By Nigerian Troops

Nigerian military troops have slain a number of bandit terrorists threatening communities in the Benue State region of the nation.

The army are alleged to have killed infamous criminals who are said to be loyalists of late militia chief Terwase Akwaza, alias Gana, in two separate military operations last week on Thursday and Friday.

Bandit camps in Benue State’s Katsina-Ala and Ukum Local Government Areas (LGAs) were also demolished, in addition to the criminals murdered.

The identities of the eliminated bandits were Iortyom Wuave, alias JANTA, Terdoo Kiorga, called APAAPA, and Orkulam Mom, aka ORBUTEE, according to the Public Relations Officer of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), Flying Officer Audu Katty.

“In its operating region, the troops of Operation Whirl Stroke have continued to increase their struggle against criminal armed gangs and banditry. In the last several days, the heightened vigor has resulted in the demolition of numerous bandit camps.

“Notably, while on combat patrol on February 24, 2022, at approximately 1500hrs, troops reacted to a distress call in Tse Mela in Yooyo Council Ward of Katsina-Ala LGA on the sighting of Iortyom Wuave aka Janta, a known armed militia gang commander on the OPWS wanted list,” Katty stated.

Katty added that on sighting the troops who were responding to a distress call, Janta engaged them in a shootout but it was in the cause of the gunfire engagement that he lost his life.

Similarly, the OPWS spokesman narrated that two other bandits, Terdoo Kiorga, aka Apaapa, and Orkulam Mom, aka Orbuter were killed during a shootout with troops who raided the hideout of the bandits in the early hours of Friday.

Items recovered from the operations include: five AK 47 rifles, one Pump Action rifle, three AK 47 magazines, 127 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, 12 cartridges, five cell phones, and assorted charms.
