President of the United States, Joe Biden, has warned that if Russia uses chemical weapons in the continuing conflict with Ukraine, it would pay a high price.
“I’m not going to talk about intelligence,” Biden told CNN’s Arlette Saenz on Friday. “But Russia will pay a high price if they use chemicals.”

The warning comes after Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, claimed on March 9 that Russia may be planning to deploy chemical weapons against Ukraine after making false allegations that the US is developing chemical weapons in the nation.
“Now that Russia has made these bogus allegations, and China appears to have backed this propaganda, we should all be on the watch for Russia to deploy chemical or biological weapons in Ukraine, or to stage a false flag operation using them,” she said on Twitter.
It’s a well-defined pattern.”
She also said that Russia had a history of employing chemical weapons.
The US has also pointed out that Syria’s president, Bashar al-Assad, whose regime is backed by Russia, has frequently used chemical weapons against his people during the conflict there.
