Nnewi: Chris Azubuogu’s Ally and Former PDP Nnewi House of Assembly Aspirant, Dumps PDP For APGA

Uncertainty has heightened within the camps of PDP, YPP and APC in Nnewi North, with the continuous defection of party stakeholders to the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA). The recent defection of Hon. Chris Azubuogu to APGA have triggered lots of defections from different quarters to the All Progressive Grand Alliance.

It was a tale of defections in Nnewi North yesterday as one of the most influential youth leader in the local government and former PDP State House of Assembly Aspirant, Hon. Ucheagwu Emmanuel Ejim (Bishop), officially defected to the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

Hon. Ucheagwu Emmanuel Ejim who is also an ally to the member representing Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, at the Federal House of Representative, Hon. Chris Emeka Azubogu, who recently joined the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

The defectors who were yesterday unveiled to party members at Obi- Nnewi-ichi by the APGA Local Government and Ward (1) Chairman Nnewi-ichi, Hon Chike Agwuncha and Hon Afam Agina respectively, as well as many other APGA stakeholders. Many of the defectors who were in company of their followers in their former Political party expressed joy as they return to APGA which they said was their mother party as well as where they first started their Political career.

Hon. Ucheagwu Emmanuel Ejim While addressing APGA faithful at Obi- Nnewi ichi on Sunday evening, expressed satisfaction with the current APGA leadership and expressed readiness to work with party members to get victory for the party come 2023 general election. He however pleaded for good Partnership irrespective of their previous party differences.

Meanwhile, Hon. Ucheagwu Emmanuel Ejim also informed APGA faithful in Nnewi-ichi on the current status of Hon. Chris Azubogu, as he is now a full member of APGA.

The APGA LG chairman and Ward (1) chairman, Nnewi-ichi, congratulated the new entrants, saying that they made the right decision by joining the leading party in Anambra State.

“You have taken the right decision at the right time. You will enjoy all the rights and privileges of the party”, the chairman assured.

Also, the defectors promised to deliver their chapters and polling units to the party come February 2023 General election.

Meanwhile, other defectors who were present at the unveiling ceremony are Hon Bennett Ngonadi, former chairman, Nzuko Ora Nnewi. Mrs Ifeoma Nnadi, Nnewi North LG woman leader Active Voters and Mr Obinna Odunukwe, Nnewichi Ward 1 Cordinator, IUSM, and many others.

Also, there was clash of interests from 3 different aspirants in the party who at the event officially announced their interest to run for State House of Assembly, to represent Nnewi North Constituency.

They are Ibeneme Onyeka, Barr. Obinna Uba ad Hon. Peter Nwosu, all from Uruagu.
