At the Presidential Villa in Abuja, President Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) is meeting with seven applicants for the position of national chairman of the All Progressives Congress.

Senator Sani Musa, a Niger-East lawmaker; Tanko Al-Makura, a former governor of Nasarawa State; George Akume, a former governor of Benue State; Abdulaziz Yari, a former governor of Zamfara State; Abdullahi Adamu, another former governor of Nasarawa State; Saliu Mustapha, and Mohammed Etsu, all former governors of Nasarawa State.

APC Leadership Crisis: Court Vacates Order Restraining National Convention

The meeting took place just hours after the hopefuls were screened by a Masari-led screening committee at the Katsina State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro on Tuesday night at 10 p.m.

Although the nitty-gritty of Wednesday’s meeting couldn’t be officially confirmed as of the time of filing this report, it is believed that the President will either disclose his consensus plans or allow an open race.
