Many Soldiers Killed As Terrorists Attacked Kaduna Military Base – Shehu Sani Reveals

Senator Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna politician, verified news of a new terrorist attack on a military installation in Kaduna State on Tuesday.

In a brief message sent to his Twitter account, the legislator expressed his sympathies to the families of the troops killed in the incident.

He praised them for standing firm against their pursuers before succumbing to their attacks.

It will be noted that leven soldiers were reportedly slain by gunmen suspected of being terrorists who mounted a daring attack on a military installation in Kaduna, as previously reported by Anaedoonline.ng.


On Monday, gunmen allegedly assaulted a military post in Polwire village, Birnin Gwari local government region.

The militants who came into the village on motorbikes were claimed to have also burned down some armoured personnel carriers (APC) belonging to the army after an intense fire fight with the troops that lasted approximately two hours, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

Apart from the 11 troops slain, up to 19 more were wounded and are seeking treatment, according to reports.

The terrorists are said to have escaped with weapons after overwhelming the soldiers, while the injured soldiers are being treated at Birnin Gwari General Hospital and 271 Nigerian Airforce Medical Center, and the bodies of those who died have been moved to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital Kaduna (44 NARHK) in Kaduna.

Confirming the sad incident, Senator Sani wrote: “The terrorists’ attacks on the Base in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna state over the weekend is true. We appreciate the ultimate sacrifices of our troops who put up a strong resistance. My condolences to their families.”

The attack on the military base is the latest in the series of disturbing attacks by bandit terrorists on Kaduna State.


Previously, attacks have been launched against the Kaduna International Airport and the Abuja-Kaduna train in which several lives were lost.
