One person has died and a building affected following the fall of an Iroko tree in Ebeleogo Umudim Nnewi in North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Anaedoonline gathered that the tree which is popularly known as Ukwuofor located at Obi Ebeleogo Umudim Nnewi has existed for over hundred years.

The tree which fell after a heavy rain and windstorm killed a man called Rebun, popularly known as Itigidi, and also affected a retail shop.

According to eyewitnesses, the tree which fell only killed Ruben who is being speculated that he hails from Ebonyi State or Cross-River State. One of the eyewitnesses said that Ruben who should be in his sixies has lived in Ebeleogo and Umuezena Umudim in the last thirty years.

At the time of writing, it is not yet clear what Ruben who is said to be a social and likable fellow was doing under the tree at that time night of the night when the tree fell.
