All members of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government who are standing for elective office must quit by Monday, April 16.

Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, stated this to State House media at the conclusion of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

President Buhari delivered the command, according to Mohammed, during his presentation to ministers and other cabinet members at the FEC meeting on Wednesday.

The only person who is not affected by the instruction, according to him, is Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who is an elected member of the cabinet.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Buhari’s direction came only hours after the Court of Appeal overturned the Federal High Court in Umuahia’s decision to strike down the provision of Section 84(12) of the Electoral Act 2022..
