On Wednesday, President Muhammadu Buhari decried the assassination of Fatima, her four children, and six other persons in Anambra State by unknown gunmen.

The pregnant lady and her children were reportedly slain at Isulo, Anambra State’s Orumba North Local Government Area.

Many people suspected IPOB’s militant arm, Eastern Security Network (ESN), of executing out the assaults, although the pro-Biafra organization has always denied involvement.

Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, a CNG spokesman, stated that the North will no longer be quiet in the face of claimed planned and systematic attacks on its people and interests.

Buhari warned against retaliatory attacks in a statement sent by his spokeswoman, Garba Shehu, and urged Nigerians to enable security authorities to conduct investigations.

The President decried the “wild, brutal, and wanton slaughter of innocent people” in the southeast and across Nigeria, while condemning the posting of horrific films on social media.

The statement reads: “The Presidency wishes to caution against people knee-jerk reactions, the creation of panic, disruption of lives and livelihoods, or even retaliatory violence following the viral videos of the alleged killings of non-indigenes by the Eastern Security Network (ESN) and its mother terrorist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

“While expert agencies are now verifying the factuality and veracity of the claims that accompany the horrid pictures being circulated, we call on all citizens to avoid hasty steps or conclusions that could exacerbate the situation, and on the contrary keep to a line of conduct that will help the law to take its proper course.

“The Presidency also cautions the public against the indiscriminate sharing of posts on social media so as to deny vested interests who seek to divide us and create disturbance the chance to do so.
