The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) national working committee (NWC) has awarded a certificate of return to Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential primary election winner.
On Wednesday, Atiku was presented with the certificate of return at the party’s Abuja headquarters.
During the party’s presidential primary contest last Saturday, the former Vice President defeated Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, Akwa Ibom Governor Udom Emmanuel, former Ekiti Governor Ayo Fayose, and Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed, among others.

He won the ticket to represent the party in the 2023 elections with 371 votes.
Speaking before the certificate of return was issued to Atiku, Iyorchia Ayu, national chairman of the PDP, described Atiku as “the man of today and tomorrow”, adding that he is Nigeria’s next president.
In his remarks, Atiku commended the PDP for being impartial in the conduct of the presidential primary election.
He said the party members must work together to win the 2023 presidency.
