In a recent interview with CNN, the US news network, the Buhari Media Organization, or BMO, claimed that Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi had plagiarized ideas from President Muhammadu Buhari’s playbook.

The organization claimed Obi lacked innovation and was out of touch with events in the nation he aspires to govern.

Over the weekend in Abuja, BMO made this information public in a statement that was signed by its chairman, Niyi Akinsiju.

Various Responses Have Followed Peter Obi’s CNN Interview

The following was excerpted from the statement: “Like many Nigerians, we listened to the twice-postponed pre-recorded CNN interview, and we were astonished that a man who had been pontificating about Nigeria’s problems lacks originality when it comes to proferring solutions.

“We first noticed this from Obi’s response to a question on how he would restart the economy, which seemed like he was reading from President Buhari’s workbook.

“The Labour Party candidate spoke about ensuring that Nigerians return to agriculture, pulling millions out of poverty and cutting the cost of governance, which incidentally are part of what the Buhari administration, which he delights in maligning, is doing right now”

BMO asserted that Obi’s remarks on refineries and insecurity revealed a lack of in-depth understanding of high-level government.

The group further asked Nigerians to press opposition figures to make their campaign promises more specific.
