The federal government must return Nnamdi Kanu, the head of the Indigenous People of Biafra, to the nation from which he was extradited to Nigeria, according to a ruling from the Federal High Court in Umuahia.
The ruling was reached in a case involving fundamental rights that was brought by IPOB attorney Alloy Ejimakor.
The attorney revealed in a tweet that such orders had been given.

“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu WINS at Federal High Court, Umuahia. Court ruled that the Extraordinary Rendition is a violation of his fundamental rights. All 7 prayers sought from the court granted, including restoring him to his state of being as of 19th June, 2021 & halting his prosecution,” he tweeted.
The federal government has not disclosed the nation in which Kanu was detained, but according to IPOB attorneys and decisions from the Court of Appeal, the extradition took place in Kenya.
In a case that has lasted more than four years, the Court of Appeal recently cleared the IPOB leader of all terrorism-related charges.
The appeal court has been contacted by the federal government to request a stay of execution, and the decision has been postponed.
But Nnamdi Kanu, through his attorneys Mike Ozehkome SAN and Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has now filed a Fundamental Right Action before the Federal High Court in Abuja.

In accordance with the current court of appeal ruling, they are calling for his immediate release from the Department of State Services (DSS) facility and the payment of NGN100 Billion (One Hundred Billion Naira) as compensation for the egregious violation of his rights to liberty and dignity of human beings.
