IGP Delivers N54.6m Cheques To Families Of Dead Officers

Shehu Nadada, the Katsina State Police Commissioner, delivered cheques totaling N54,532,909.32 to the families and next of kin of deceased police officers in the state on Friday.

The gesture was made in conjunction with the Inspector-General of Police Group Life Assurance Scheme.

The commissioner, speaking on behalf of the IGP, advised the recipients who had gathered at the Katsina Police command headquarters for the presentation to put the money to good use.

He also thanked the IGP for the gesture.
Nadada assured that the police would not relent in its welfare scheme for its personnel and also take care of the families of those who die on active duty.

”I wish to express my profound gratitude to the Almighty Allah and then to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman, psc+, NPM, NEAPS, fdc, CFR, for his magnanimity and compassion to the families and next of kin of deceased police officers, who have sacrificed their lives fighting for the peace and progress of our dear nation.

“The Inspector-General of Police is very passionate on the welfare of the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force. It was as a result of this giant stride that on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, I am presenting cheques worth fifty-four million, five hundred and thirty-two thousand, nine hundred and nine naira, thirty-two kobo (N54,532,909:32K) under the “Group Life Assurance Scheme” to the families and next of kin of deceased police officers, who died while in active service of their fatherland.
“I urge the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money for the betterment of the families of the deceased officers. I pray to almighty God to repose the souls of the deceased police officers in paradise.

“I wish to also use this opportunity to assure members of the public especially those at the frontline areas that the Nigeria Police Force and indeed other security agencies are on their toes and unrelenting in their onslaught against terrorists in the state.

” I wish to seek for your partnership and cooperation in the ongoing campaign, without which the security agencies cannot achieve the desired results.

” I urge members of the communities to come forward and give out useful information to the security agencies about any person or group of persons suspected to be terrorists or their informants. Any information given will be treated with utmost confidentiality, please,” a statement by the Command’s Spokesman, Gambo Isah, quoted the commissioner as saying at the presentation of the cheques to the beneficiaries on Friday.
