Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress, has pledged to break the pattern of ruling parties failing to win the Federal Capital Territory with the assistance of a coalition of supporters.
The FCT has proven elusive to succeeding governments, from that of former President Olusegun Obasanjo to the current administration, since the restoration of democracy in 1999.
Many political commentators have referred to this development as a jinx that the current government hasn’t been able to break.

With the primary goal of breaking the curse, a coalition of support organizations led by APC stalwart Dr. Ene Ogbole on Thursday started a massive mobilization effort dubbed “Operation give FCT to APC.”
Speaking to reporters at the project’s official debut, Ogbole revealed that they had discovered the cause of the previous president’s failure to win a majority of the vote in the nation’s capital.
The attractive politician declared that “Operation deliver FCT to APC” had been started to support the locals and fix persistent problems.
She said, “This operation is a conglomeration of various support groups across the Federal Capital Territory with the singular mandate of delivering Abuja to the party come 2023.
“I know that many of you here will ask why give the FCT to me. First of all, I want you to recall that it is often very difficult for ruling parties to win the Federal Capital Territory. It’s almost like a tradition and people often wonder why. The reasons are not far-fetched.

“But again, going by the achievements of the APC, one would have thought that the FCT should be the first place to be won by the ruling party. It is no news, however, that the Buhari administration has done well, no doubt. Today, we have a man who has taken up the flag of the APC to run for the 2023 presidential election.”

“We are giving 110% assurance. In fact, I want to let you know very categorically now that Asiwaju will get 70% and the rest will share 30% because our modalities are in place already. Besides, Asiwaju himself is an asset. He has been able to sell himself to the people. He has done a lot and impacted so many lives. I think it is going to be a different ball game altogether.
