To settle the conflict in Ukraine, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has proposed for talks with Vladimir Putin of Russia.
On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Sánchez made the remarks.
Sánchez stated in Davos that maintaining touch with Putin was crucial.
“I vehemently recommend, for instance, that the German and French governments take the initiative here.”
In his opinion, it is possible to resume negotiations with Germany, France, Russia, and Ukraine in the Normandy structure that was created prior to the start of the war.

Sánchez stated that the other EU members will back Paris and Berlin in such an endeavour.

Earlier, Spain’s Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares expressed reservations about a possible delivery of Leopard battle tanks from his country to Ukraine.

“This possibility is not on the table at the moment,” he said.
His comments came as Western governments weigh their responses to Kiev’s calls for more powerful fighting vehicles.
