Joe Ajaero was elected national president of the Nigeria Labour Congress on Wednesday.

Ajaero, who had previously served as the labour union’s vice national president, made history by becoming the union’s unchallenged president.

Ajaero, who was also the general secretary of the Nigerian Union of Electricity Employees before his election, was elected as the NLC’s national president at the labour union’s 13th National Delegates’ Conference, which is now taking place in Abuja.

The conference, which began on Tuesday, February 7, at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, and is expected to end on Wednesday with the election of new national officers for a four-year period, a report by The Niche NG says.
