Akin Osuntokun, Director General of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, has revealed that the party is compiling its own results from the presidential election held on February 25.

According to him, the party, like the poling units agents, has its own outcome, which is presently being compiled.

According to Newsmen, the Labour Party DG made the announcement on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday.

Osuntokun claimed that the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) use of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) for the presidential and National Assembly elections was “perverted.”

According to news reports, the Labour Party’s announcement followed the declaration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, as the winner and president-elect of the February 25th election.

He said “BVAS has been perverted. Something that is to serve a good course has now been perverted. Because once the BVAS does its role – takes a picture of the results – the polling agents will have it.

“So, the polling agents have all the results and we have our own that is presently being compiled.”

Osuntokun, who referred to various surveys conducted earlier to the election, stated that the Labour Party won some states by larger percentages while maintaining that his principle, Peter Obi, won the presidential election.

“It has been said before – about nine opinion polls – prior to the election said Obi was going to win,” he added.

The Labour Party chieftain, on the other hand, believes INEC still has a chance to redeem itself in the conduct of the postponed governorship election.

He submitted that “INEC has another opportunity on Saturday [governorship and state house of assembly elections] to redeem itself,” however, he will be “pleasantly surprised” if INEC conducts hitch-free polls on Saturday, which has been moved.
