Abia Guber: Ohanaeze Chieftain Raises Alarm Over Alleged Threat To Burn His House By Obingwa Youths

On Tuesday, the leadership of an Ohanaeze Ndigbo faction expressed concern about youth concerns in Abia State’s Obingwa Local Government Area.

The Secretary-General of Ohanaeze, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said that over a hundred thousand youths had surrounded his father’s house because the Independent National Election Commission, INEC, has refused to disclose the results of the local government elections.

Isiguzoro told Newsmen that youngsters are threatening to burn down his father’s house if INEC fails to declare the proper result in the area.

Why INEC Stopped Analysing The Gubernatorial Results In Abia

The suspension of collation of the state’s gubernatorial election results from Obingwa Local Government Area had been reported by news outlets.

The suspension was justified by INEC as a result of attacks and an invasion of its office in the council area by suspected political thugs.

The governorship election results from Obingwa Local Government Area are now being reviewed by the electoral commission.

However, Isiguzoro stated that the disgruntled youngsters believe that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, received over 100,000 votes in Obingwa Local Government Area.

According to Isiguzoro: “There is trouble in Obingwa, and there are over 120, 000 voters in Obingwa and they have besieged my house. Over a hundred thousand youths have besieged my house in Obingwa; they are asking me to talk about the election.

“I want to tell INEC that the youths besieged my house in Okewuzo in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State; they are threatening to burn down my house, that if I refuse to talk, they would burn down my father’s house.

“They said I’m the only person that would tell the truth to the world, that the vote cast in Obingwa was genuine and I must tell the INEC Chairman to pronounce the result. And the result is that PDP had over a hundred thousand votes in Obingwa, that is what they are saying.”
