Nyesom Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, has advised Nigerians to hold onto the idea that “we are all one” and to have faith in the efficiency of President Bola Tinubu’s current administration.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader reportedly revealed this on Tuesday, June 6, during a live media discussion at the state house in Port Harcourt, where he also shared his opinions on the administration’s zoning policies.

Wike said that the All Progressives Congress (APC), which is currently in power, should thank God for giving them another chance to atone for what he called their prior wrongdoings against Nigerians.

Wike Reveals What He’ll Do If Tinubu Gives Him Any Appointment

The former governor accused the PDP of losing the February 25 presidential election because to their dependence “on the numbers” and disregard for their zoning policy, which he claimed gave the APC a “straight win.”

“APC should be jubilating that God has given them an opportunity at the cost of PDP. God gave APC the opportunity to repent from the sins they committed against Nigerians,” Wike said.

Wike refuted allegations that the President had a “Muslim agenda” in choosing his vice president, stressing that these were “machinations and accusations of lazy politicians.” Wike was commenting on Tinubu’s presidential election in accordance with the laid-out zoning formula of his party.

Recall how Tinubu and his running mate Kashim Shettima came under fire during the 2023 election campaign. Nevertheless, despite the criticism of their same-faith ticket, the pair was proclaimed the winner of the election on February 25.

Wike stressed that Nigerians would benefit from the President’s administration, issuing a warning to APC critics to support him instead of trying to block it.

The former Governor of Rivers State said: “God gave them this opportunity now and they want to bungle it again by bringing in crisis.

“If Mr President doesn’t have a smooth administration, at the end of the day, who suffers? Is it not Nigerians? Let us believe that we are all one, let us give everyone a sense of belonging.”
