A 40-year-old woman named Funmilayo Aduloju was charged by the Ekiti State Police Command on Thursday with biting another woman and inflicting injuries as a result.
One count of assault was used to drag the defendant into court.
Inspector Johnson Okunade, the police prosecutor, said the court that “the defendant committed the offence on July 12 at approximately 8.30 p.m. in the Ekute neighborhood of Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
“The defendant bit one Adetutu Abegunde on her left eye while they were fighting and assaulted her, seriously injuring her.”Section 185 of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State 2021 were broken by the offense.

Okunade urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him to study the file and assemble his witnesses.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against her, while her counsel, Opeyemi Esan, urged the court to grant her bail, promising that she would not jump bail.
In his ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Mr A.O Adeosun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
The chief magistrate adjourned the case till August 3.
