Bosun Tijani, a fervent opponent of Muhammadu Buhari, the recently-past president of Nigeria, may be nominated as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to oversee technology and innovation.

This was disclosed in a statement released on Friday, August 4 by a Young Professionals-affiliated All Progressives Congress (APC) group.

According to news sources, Tijani is on the second batch of ministerial nominees that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu sent to the Senate on Wednesday.

The APC group voiced confidence regarding the effects that Tijani’s appointment may have on the party and President Tinubu’s administration in response to the citizen’s placement on the cabinet list.

As a seasoned technocrat with a strong track record and a wealth of knowledge in the technology and innovation fields, he would be a valuable addition to the Tinubu administration, according to the young.

The group’s spokeswoman, Dayo Ogunyemi, told the Newsmen that he thinks his hiring shows a dedication to using technology and creativity to spur economic development.

“Bosun Tijani’s nomination reflects a clear commitment by President Tinubu to embrace technology and innovation as crucial drivers of economic growth and development in Nigeria.

“We are thrilled with Bosun Tijani’s nomination, as it underscores the leadership’s dedication to harnessing technology’s potential for propelling our nation towards sustainable economic progress,” Ogunyemi reportedly said.

Rewind to 2020, when Tijani questioned why Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari was still in office in a Twitter post.

He portrayed the Katsina man as a sick, disoriented, and incapable leader.

“The honest men and women around Buhari should help us understand why they will give their lives for a sick and disconnected man to rule Nigeria at all cost. Please explain how Buhari is qualified to lead a nation like Nigeria. Please help us understand.

“Doing everything possible to keep Buhari in power is nothing but a disservice, in my opinion, and that makes you a dishonest person. Too many people are in pain and can use urgent leadership in Nigeria. If you get in the way of them trying credible options, you are an enemy,” Tijani wrote on Twitter on April 19, 2020.
