Three Arrested in Connection with Robbery and Murder of Aide to Nigerian Senator

The Lagos State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in the case involving the robbery and tragic murder of Adeniyi Sanni, an aide to Senator Solomon Adeola, commonly known as Yayi. The arrest of three male suspects linked to the crime was announced by Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, during a press briefing held at the command’s headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos.

The incident in question occurred on August 5, when Adeniyi Sanni was intercepted by a group of individuals at a checkpoint in Ojodu Berger while on his way home in Lagos. Tragically, Sanni lost his life during the encounter.

The three suspects apprehended in connection with this robbery and murder case are Fred Azeez Okuno, a 43-year-old Lagos resident; Lucky Idudu Michael, a 33-year-old hailing from Delta State; and Adedigba Segun, a 26-year-old from Ibadan, Oyo State.

Commissioner Idowu Owohunwa commended the diligent work of the Lagos Police Command’s intelligence and investigative units, which ultimately led to the successful apprehension of the robbery and murder syndicate. During the arrests, three firearms, including the weapon believed to be the murder weapon, were confiscated, adding a critical dimension to the ongoing investigation.
