Reverend Father and three hostages have been rescued in a swift and successful operation by the Anambra State Police Command, in collaboration with the Forward Operating Base (FOB), a team comprising military and paramilitary services, who were held captive in an insurgent camp in Ogbunka, Orumba South Local Government Area.
The operation, which received support from the Police Rapid Response Squad in Awkuzu, not only secured the safe release of the abducted individuals but also resulted in the dismantling of the insurgents’ camp and the apprehension of three suspected kidnappers.

According to DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer for the state, the rescue mission yielded significant findings. Alongside the safe return of the hostages, law enforcement authorities recovered nine vehicles and three pump-action guns, which had been used by the kidnappers.
The operation also uncovered stolen camouflage uniforms, a Biafra flag, multiple handsets, flash drives, and sim cards. These discoveries will play a crucial role in facilitating a thorough investigation and eventual prosecution of those involved in criminal activities.
