Natasha Akpoti Declared Winner Of Kogi Central Senatorial Election
The Senate President then shook hands with her and gave her a copy of the Senate Standing Rules.
In September, the Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal, situated in Lokoja, declared that Akpoti-Uduaghan had defeated All Progressives Congress senator Abubakar Ohere in the February senate election. Ohere, however, went to the Appeal Court in an attempt to reverse the ruling.
Senator Abubakar Ohere’s plea was then denied by the Court of Appeal in Abuja on Monday, citing lack of merit as the reason. The court declared that Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of the People’s Democratic Party was the official victor of the Kogi Central Senatorial Election on February 25, this year.
