UPDATE: Veteran Broadcaster Aisha Bello Mustapha Is Dead

It has been announced that Aisha Bello Mustapha, a well-known newsreader for the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), passed suddenly early on Monday, December 11, 2023.

Her passing at an Abuja hospital has left a huge void in the media landscape, where she was praised for her extraordinary broadcasting skills. The Nigerian media community is in mourning.

As soon as word of her passing emerged on social media, Nigerians began to react, expressing their sadness and sending condolences.

Mustapha was the previous general manager of the NTA Parliament in addition to being a well-known announcer on the NTA Network News at Nine in the 1990s and early 2000s. After an incredible 35 years of service, she retired in May of 2022.

On Monday at 1:00 p.m., the Central Mosque in Abuja will host a prayer ceremony in her honour.
