At the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) 97th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, a few governors who were elected on its platform were not present.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, the PDP National Executive Committee meeting, presided over by National Chairman Iyorchia Ayu, was conducted on Thursday at the party’s Wadata Plaza national headquarters in Abuja.
All of the party’s organs, including the National Working Committee (NWC), Board of Trustees (BoT), and Governors’ Forum, among others, are understood to make up the NEC.

Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Duoye Diri (Bayelsa), Darius Ishaku (Taraba), and Aminu Tambuwual were among the PDP Governors present at the NEC meeting (Sokoto).
Governors Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), and Samuel Ortom were absent from the meeting (Benue).
The presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president Namadi Sambo, the former governors of Jigawa State Sule Lamido and Senator Saminu Turaki, the former governor of Adamawa State Boni Haruna, and the former governor of Cross River State Donald Duke were among the party chieftains present at the meeting.
Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has said that he has moved on from his PDP (People’s Democratic Party) loss to Atiku Abubakar in the party’s presidential primary.

The governor of Rivers State said in a statement on Thursday that phase is over and that people who believe his issues with the PDP are related to the results of the party’s presidential primaries are ill and have mental issues.
The people who believe he is the issue, he said, are misinformed and don’t comprehend what is going on.
Wike reportedly made the remarks at the State University of Science’s Ahoada Campus’ official opening, according to Anaedoonline.ng.
He claims that he has been accused by some of attempting to ruin the PDP since he lost the PDP primary, but that accusation is wholly false.
