Alhaji Aminu Dantata, a respected elder statesman and prominent business mogul, has donated N1.5 billion to assist flood victims in Maiduguri, Borno State. The recent floods devastated several parts of the state capital, leaving many families in distress.
Dantata, who led a delegation from Kano to the Borno State Government House, met with Governor Babagana Zulum to express his condolences and show solidarity with the victims. During his visit, the 96-year-old philanthropist emphasized the deteriorating economic situation in Nigeria and called on the country’s elites and political leaders to reflect, repent, and embrace a greater sense of responsibility and fear of God.
He also prayed for lasting peace and harmony in Borno State and Nigeria at large, extending his support to those affected by the disaster. Governor Zulum, while expressing his profound gratitude, acknowledged that Dantata’s visit brought hope and comfort to the people during their time of grief.
“The people of Borno deeply appreciate this magnanimous act. Our Baba has donated N1.5 billion to support the flood victims,” Governor Zulum announced, noting the importance of the elder statesman’s gesture.
This donation follows another major contribution made by Dantata’s nephew, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, who recently pledged N1 billion to assist the flood victims. These acts of generosity have provided a much-needed source of relief and solidarity in the face of a devastating crisis.
