Businesses in Nnewi awoke from the slumber of the IPOB sit-at-home order late hours of the evening. Nnewi town and her people whom as of the early hours of Friday 14th, September 2018, had all their various businesses locked up in respect and accordance to the order from IPOB, opened late hours of the day.

Small-scale businesses owners like traders especially, roadside traders, hawkers, and others opened up their ventures, while Large-scale businesses including transportation companies were also open to travellers. The market which was virtually scanty, became a bit busy with sellers and buyers as both supermarkets and shops opened up for some late hour transactions.

Even though the day was almost over, people did not relent nor waste the little remaining time, just as the saying goes “half bread is better than none”
Some Commercial motorcyclists known as “Okada men” within Nnewi, where the group IPOB has a massive support were seen in their large numbers discussing the IPOB agenda and appreciating the masses’ obedience to the order. Amongst their topics for discussion was the disagreement between IPOB and MASSOB. Some of the places that were seen to come alive later during the day include the Nkwo triangle, 100 foot road, Okpuno egbu market, ibeto junction and some other major roads.
