BARR OSIGWE FLAGS OFF CAMPAIGN, PROMISES QUALITY REPRESENTATION

Ahead of the 2019 General Election, the candidate of the Independent Democrats for Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Barr. Onyeka Osigwe, Saturday, 29 December, 2018, flagged off his campaign in his bid to represent Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency in the lower legislative chamber of the National Assembly.

Barr. Onyeka Osigwe, a lawyer and serial entrepreneur, flagged off his campaign at the popular Nnewi High School field, Nnewi, in the presence of thousands of supporters and members of his party.

Addressing his audience, Osigwe promised to give the constituency an efficient
and effective representation if voted into power. He assured the people of giving priority attention to the problems and challenges bedevilling the constituency, especially as it concerns policies and practices affecting the business environment of the constituency.
He said, “Nnewi is known for massive commercial activities, but unfortunately,
the federal government is not giving the town the needed attention in terms of creating friendly environment for businesses to thrive in the business. For example, just close to us here is the popular King Palace Hotel, Nnewi; this hotel have been closed down for weeks now by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) for reasons that holds no water; and this is how they go about disturbing our people. We need a competent representative, who can play the role of an activist in the National Assembly to vehemently speak against such and related activities of agencies of the government.

While assuring the people of his preparedness to represent the constituency in the National Assembly, he said, “Our current representative, for me, is incompetent and do not deserve to be re-elected. I am prepared to give quality representation. I am a lawyer and I clearly understand the business of law making. If given the chance, I will ensure that favorable polices which will improve the economy; and rights of people will be given due attention’, he concluded.
The presidential candidate of Independent Democrats, who also doubles as the National Chairman of the party, Edozie Madu, who was also present duration the flag off, endorsed the aspiration of Barr. Onyeka Osigwe and assured him of the party’s support.

He said, “I so much believe in the abilities of Barr. Onyeka Osigwe. I am supposed to be at the flag off of the gubernatorial campaign of our candidate in Kasitna State which is taking place now, but because of the value I attach in the candidature of Barr. Onyeka Osigwe, I decided to attend this rally. I will personally support him; what is left now is for you, the supporters and lovers of this project, to canvass support for our candidate and the party.

While emphasizing on the need to vote for him as the president of Nigeria, come 2019, he promised to build an international airport in Nnewi and also ensure that illegal extortion by the police and custom officials is stopped.
The Flag off rally was attended by Obi of Nnewichi, Obi George Onyekaba (Obidigwu); and various bigwigs of Independent Democrats.
