SAD: DMGS STUDENT KILLS CLASSMATE “OUT OF ENVY

A JSS 1 student of the Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha, Anambra State, Emmanuel Chukwuebuka Nnanna, has lost his life due to alleged envy of his classmate.

A Facebook user, Mizta Nnamdi, who shared the information on his wall, said that the victim, a native of Oburo Ogwa in Mbaitoli LGA, Imo State, died after one of his classmates (name not ascertained), allegedly threw a stone at him on Tuesday, February 19th.

Describing the victim as a super intelligent student, Mizta Nnamdi, claimed that the culprit has been envious of Emmanuel Chukwuebuka Nnanna, who, according to him, has been taking the first position in their class.

He wrote: “Yesterday, one of his classmates rolled a large stone through a window in their dormitory, and the stone fell on Emmanuel and crushed his head.

“This happened after school hours. The victim finished eating at the school cafeteria; he fetched water in his gallon and kept it at his hostel corner and came outside to play football. He met two students playing football, asked them if he could join them; but the two boys told him to wait that they were playing turn by turn.

“While waiting and watching others playing, a mischievous student carried a large stone they usually use to hold their hostel door, targeted the victim from upstairs, and hit the large stone on his head. The victim fell down immediately and become unconscious. The two boys playing football carried him to the school clinic, but there was no equipment there to handle his case.

“One of the attendants at the clinic took him to the general hospital, Onitsha, but no treatment was given to him.

“They later took him to Iyi Enu Hospital in Ogidi, Idemili North LGA where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.

“When all these were going on, they did not contact the victim’s father. Kanayo Hospital and other private clinics are very close to DMGS, but instead of them to take the victim to a nearby hospital, as his case was an emergency, they took him to a general hospital and then, far away Iyi Enu. Just like that an innocent boy that lost his mother when he was only three years, a super intelligent boy with multiple talents, died because of his fellow students envy. RIP junior blood”.

Anaedooline could not get an official statement from the school management as at the time of filing this report. When our reporter visited the Central Police Station, Onitsha, police operatives at the station said they heard the story but that it was not reported officially.
