Nnewi Erosion Again; Residents Of 100 Foot Road Cry Out As Erosion “Gushes” Forward(Photos)

Erosion is one epidemic that has continued to ravage some important parts of Nnewi, recall that we reported the progress that has been made so far at the Obiofia Nnewichi Nnewi erosion site.

Another place where erosion is ravaging is Okpuno Egbu Umudim where the residents and shop owners today, cried out to the govt to help their helpless situation over the erosion menace that is threatening to take over their land.

An Okpuno Egbu Umudim erosion which started in 2017 on land located at 100 Foot road which was previously used as a refuse dump site has grown so big and threatening that shop owners have been forced to abandon their shops which were hitherto located around that area.

Dishearted Shop owners and residents around the affected area spoke to anaedoonline.ng about their precarious situation and also sent a cry-for-help call to the Anambra State Govt.

Mr. Chima, whose only source of livelihood is a shop located adjacent to the place where the erosion is ravaging lamented the seemingly nonchalant disposition of the state Govt towards the menace.

While speaking to Anadoonline.com, a Vulcanizer who took over one of the shops abandoned because of the erosion expressed his worries.
He said, “This erosion is coming up fast and if care is not taken it will cut us off from accessing Nkwo Nnewi, and that will spell and economic doom for this vicinity”
