How I Defended Nonso Okafor, Cater Dike, Others, Against Moneybags – Victor Oye.
The National Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Dr. Victory Ike Oye (Ozonkpu), has spoken about his insistence in ensuring internal democracy in the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
Speaking during the visit of the Anambra State House of Assembly Members-Elect at his residence in the weekend, Chief Victor Oye narrated how he ensured that the mandates of the most Anambra State House of Assembly Members-Elect were not hijacked by Moneybags.

While thanking the Members-Elect for endorsing him, Ozonkpu recalled the role he played in ensuring their emergence, saying that if not for his firm disposition, many of them would not have made it, adding that, character rather than money determined who got what is in APGA.
Speaking, he said, “What will I collect from Hon. Okechukwu Okoye and Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor? Some of you do not even have money to prosecute the primary election, let alone giving me money. Does it make sense? No, I know how I defended you people back there at the INEC office in Abuja, many money bags wanted to hijack the tickets and hand it over to their cronies but I said no. I stood firm. We were frequenting INEC just to ensure that you people’s names were not removed or changed. We protected it to the last minute”
Speaking further, he said, “My position and insistence that Hon. John Nwokoye; Hon. Cater Dike Nnamdi Umeh; Hon. Ifeanyi Arthur Chiekwu deserved to be given the party tickets is one of the reasons I am being maligned in social media, I refused to bulge or compromise. I stood my grounds. Today, I am happy that you people are here beaming with smiles.
He added, that “Hon. Ogbuefinokoefi Ejike Okoye of Anaocha 11 won the election in 2015 but was rigged out and the party by its wisdom insisted that he will be given the ticket back in 2019. Such wise and applaudable decision is still one of the reasons I have also been attacked unjustly in the media” he stated.
He, however, advised the Members-Elect never to forget God who made it possible for them to be where they are at the moment, their constituents who gave them their mandates and also the party that produced them.
