The Chairman Nnewi Motor Spare Parts Has This To Say About ATMA

Chairman Agbo-Edo Motor Spare Parts Dealers Association (AMSPDA) has appealed to the Anambra State Government to look into the issue of harassment and extortion on road users by Anambra Traffic Management Agency(ATMA).

Mr. Dennis Ikegwuonu while speaking exclusively to Anaedoonline.com on Tuesday, 2nd July 2019, appealed to the Anambra State Government to look into the issue of harassment and extortion on Nnewi road users by Anambra Traffic Management Agency (ATMA) as it gets worse daily inspite of his constant complaint to the responsible authorities.

Speaking, he said, “the rate at which the Anambra Traffic Management Agency officers harass and extort road users here in Nnewi , especially around Nwanyi-Imo bus stop has become alarming, this has been going on for a while and is now turning into a habit.”

”Sometimes, they lay unfounded allegation on road users that are ignorant or not well enlightened about traffic rules, thereby exploiting and extorting them.”

Speaking about efforts he has previously put in to checkmate this trend, he said,” I have written several letters to the ATMA Nnewi office and their Head office in Awka reporting this corrupt practice but it appears nothing has been done in response. I appeal to the Anambra State Government to intervene and put a stop to it, as it worsens daily.”
