NAUS Issues 7 Days Ultimatum To TEETfund Over N280 Billion Funds Management

The leadership of National Association of University Students (NAUS) has issued 7 days ultimatum to Professor Suleiman Bogoro led Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund) for failure to address University Students over management of funds allocated to the agency.
It will be recalled that NAUS Vice President South west, Comrade David Aridiogo in Ado Ekiti on Thursday 26th of December 2019, released the press interview accusing the Executive Secretary of TETfund over misappropriation of funds allocated to the body to execute Special Project in Nigeria Public University.

In a release signed National President, NAUS, Signed Felix Simon Ijegalu, GCNUS and SSA to NAUS President on Media, Comrade Ajiboye Seyi Samson reads:

“We use this medium to call the attention of the Executive Secretary of Tetfund, Professor Suleiman Bagoro to explain how the project for 2019 is being implemented.
“The direct disbursement shows that each University will receive N826.6 million and we have 43 Federal Universities and 48 State Universities,” he said.

Sequel to the press interview, the Senate arm of the association ably led by Comrade Ibrahim Lawal sent a courtesy letter to the office of the executive secretary for enquiries on how the funds was disbursed to the approximate channel.

While attempting to consolidate in a peaceful manner, the National President Felix Ije of NAUS, having implement due consultation redirected a notification letter to Professor Bagoro but proved abortive.

President Felix further warned all sponsored groups to desist from sabotaging the interest of millions of University Students.

“We are aware that there are plans to silence our position on the subject matter by some irrelevant groups, hence our demands on protecting the interest of Nigeria University Students remains sacrosanct,” Felix said.

He further demand that the N208 Billion earlier imposed should be disburse to Federal and State Universities in Nigeria specifically for the improvement, provision and maintenance of essential physical infrastructure for teaching and learning.

Also for quality instructional material and equipment for research and publication, to enhanced training and development of university staff.

He further asserted during an interview in Anambra state on Friday that the association demands is prior to welfarism and good learning environment with infrastructure

“The National Secretariat of NAUS, If after 7days our demand is not meant, shall be temporarily relocated to Maitama, Abuja until victory is ascertained. We shall be leading our members to press our demands and seek redress and public apology against their corruptible act.”
