Delta Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, has sent warm felicitations to his Anambra counterpart, Chief Willie Obiano, as he clocks 65 years on Saturday.
Okowa, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, on Friday in Asaba, commended Chief Obiano for his marvelous contributions to the development of Anambra and the banking industry in Nigeria.
While congratulating Obiano on the anniversary, he lauded him for his political sagacity and excellent leadership which had culminated in the ongoing transformation of Anambra.
According to the governor, Obiano is an astute administrator and a leader with impeccable passion for the development of his people and has continued to blaze the trail, especially the spectacular performance of his four-pillar programme of Security, Agriculture, Youth Empowerment and Education.
“Your Excellency, let me commend your administration and the good people of Anambra for the peace and security in your state which is why Anambra remains a centre for commerce in Nigeria.
“Your focus and commitment to the growth and development of Anambra is commendable and worthy of emulation.
“The people of Anambra are indeed proud of your achievements even as your administration continues to chart a new path of development and create a brighter future ahead of them.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I heartily rejoice with a renowned technocrat, banker and administrator, an outstanding professional and my brother governor, His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano, Governor of Anambra State, as he celebrates his 65th birth anniversary on Saturday.
”I am pleased to join your family, political associates and other well-wishers in thanking God for blessing you with the strength and wisdom to live a fulfilling life of honesty and commitment to the well-being of Anambra people.
“It is our prayer that God will continue to protect you and grant you good health to render more services to mankind.” he stated.
Governor Obiano in his facebook page wrote “It’s my Birthday, I just turned 65!
Considering that Coronavirus is still ravaging the world, causing deaths in their hundreds of thousands across the globe, inflicting severe health challenges on many more people, causing businesses to collapse and costing millions of people their jobs and billions their most cherished relationships; with Ndi Anambra not free of this phenomenon, it’s time for a sober reflection!
And as has become the tradition since ndi Anambra gave me the mandate to lead them in 2013 and generously renewed it in 2017 in an unprecedented manner, I will merely mark the event, and not celebrate it.
With my immediate family, we will mark it with prayers and a private mass to thank God for His abundant blessings including the eventful life and robust health He has granted us.
It’s an opportunity for me to meditate on my relationship with our Creator. So, I’d ask that you pray for me and my family on this special day.
