Edo 2020: Details Of Meeting Between IGP Adamu And Obaseki Revealed

The details of the meeting between the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki and Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has emerged.

The IGP during the meeting assured the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party of a level-playing field for all candidates in the forthcoming Edo governorship election.

Adamu also assured Obaseki that the police will not take sides with his main challenger, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress.

He further stated that the security operative will also put an end to the escalating violence in the state.

He also assured the governor that the force had made adequate arrangements to secure the election.

A source revealed that the Governor appreciated the IGP for accepting to see them.

According to him, “Obaseki thanked Adamu for providing security for them throughout his statewide campaign. He reported about 11 cases of violence in the state during the campaign and he accused APC of being behind the violence.”
