Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has reconciled Channels TV reporter Pius Angbo and his wife Ifeyinwa Angbo after she made allegations of domestic violence against him.
Mrs Angbo who claimed to be a medical doctor had made a video that went viral on social media on Sunday, alleging her husband had a history of battering her in their six-year-old marriage.
”Hello people, my name is Ifeyinwa. I am a doctor. I have been married to Pius Angbo of Channels TV for six years. And for six years, I have not known peace in this marriage. It’s been from one woman to another,” she said, showing her battered face.

She also said they have four children and the last one came via Caeserian section about four weeks ago.
Ortom, however, met the couple on Monday and counseled them to always settle their differences amicably and shun the temptation of engaging in violence.
He stated that as a young couple with great potentials they need to foster a strong union to serve as models to others.
In response, Angbo said he had apologised to his wife, stressing that he also sought the forgiveness of the entire womenfolk and would make amends going forward.
On her part, Ifeyinwa said she had accepted her husband’s apology and forgiven him, saying their children are still tender and they needed prayers to grow stronger in love and nurture their kids to maturity.

She appreciated Ortom for taking time out of his very busy schedule to make peace between them, saying the governor’s intervention was fatherly and a demonstration of love for them.
Ifeyinwa’s viral video had drawn the attention of Channels TV which tweeted on Sunday night that it was investigating the allegation.
“Channels Television does not condone violence against women or anyone in general.
“The domestic violence matter reported against one of our reporters is being investigated and appropriate action will be taken,” the broadcaster said.
