Biafra Nations League (BNL) has urged the people of the South East and South South to ignore President Muhammadu Buhari’s order to fly Nigeria’s flag half way in honour of the Late Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru and ten others.

It can be recalled that late CoAS Attahiru alongside ten other military officers had died last Friday after the plane conveying them to Kaduna crashed.

Following his death and ten others, President buhari ordered all national flags in the country to be flown at halfway from Monday to Wednesday in honour of the military officers.

The pro-Biafra group in the Bakassi Peninsula threatened to pull down any poll bearing the flag halfway.

According to the group, Attahiru cannot be honoured in the region after the army allegedly killed armless supporters of the Biafran struggle.

They reminded Buhari that no officer represented the East in the meeting he held with Army Chief and other security agencies despite that the discussion was about the region’s security.

BNL also claimed that Attahiru’s trip to Kaduna was to discuss on how to launch attacks in the old Eastern region which is why no Igbo man or any minority from the East was selected among those in the plane.

Meanwhile, the group said that the Biafra flag will fly in full in Bakassi Peninsula come May 30 in honour of Late General C Odumegwu Ojukwu, General Philip Effiong and all Biafran heroes.
