The Peoples Democratic Party family in Nnewi North Local Government dispatched a four-man high-powered delegation on Friday to appeal to the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District and the leader of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) to join the Peoples Democratic Party after witnessing his transformational and developmental activities in less than three years

In his remarks, the party chairman, Prince Ifeamaumaeme Nwafor-Orizu, said he is not surprised by the records set by the first-time Senator, dubbed the Prince of the Senate by his colleagues, because he has always been at the forefront of deploying his God-given personal resources and vast contacts to the service of humanity long before he became a Senator of the Federal Republic.

According to Mr. Ifeamumaeme Nwafor Orizu, the Chairman, ” We are here to visit our brother and inform him that the party having just concluded its ward and local government congresses is now poised to reclaim its lost glory and it is our belief that the time has come for us to embark on seeking out the best hands that will help in pushing forward the ideology of the party which is service to the people .We plead with you to come and join our party because with what we see in the field and what you have done in the various communities, your ability, capability and everything that you have done so far to humanity in general, in politics mention them , we are moved to come as a party and as your brothers too to ask you to come back to the Peoples Democratic Party where you were not just a member but a father with a towering record of service to the party” End of quote.

In his remarks the Secretary of the party , Mr Chibunna Udegbunam had the following to say,

” If you look around, you will see the representatives of the old and new executives of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Nnewi North, that we came complete and with the blessing of the entire PDP family (including the stakeholders of the party ) in Nnewi North. And what we came for, is that we are saying that PDP is a party known for development and progress and if you go through the records of our Distingushed Senator, you will realise that he is someone that has achieved lots of developmental projects as a Senator. The qualities we see in him are the qualities that the PDP identifies with . That is why we the PDP Nnewi North local government have come to call him as our brother and a member of PDP from time immemorial to come back to the party, so that we can join hands together to achieve more development not just for Nnewi but the entire Anambra South”.

The Senator responded by expressing his delight at their surprise arrival. He congratulated the party’s new executives on their election and urged them, as young men, to continue to follow the road of selflessness and devotion to mankind in all their endeavors, as this is the meaning of life.

He went on to say that he is pleased to know that his efforts are being appreciated by the people, citing the comments of the former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Nnewi North Local Government (who narrated how old women were rejecting monetary inducements from a rival political party during the just concluded Governorship polls to vote for the YPP and Senator Ubah).

While assuring them that the Young Progressives Party (YPP) is here to stay, particularly in Anambra state, he promised to consider their request, particularly in areas where both parties can work together to achieve the same goal of human capacity development, poverty alleviation, and basic amenities delivery to the grassroots.
