Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a presidential candidate, is not present at the party’s National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Tinubu is not present at the NEC meeting, which is being presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari and Senator Adamu Abdullahi, the party’s National Chairman.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Ahmed Lawan; his deputy, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege; Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila; and his deputy, Hon. Idris Ahmed Wase were all present at the meeting, which took place at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.

Meanwhile, Tinubu has denied being behind images of Osinbajo dressed as a biblical figure, Judas Iscariot.

After Vice President Yemi Osinbajo declared his candidacy to replace President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023, Tinubu supporters criticized the vice president for ‘daring’ to run against his benefactor.

Despite Tinubu’s refusal to explicitly denounce or react to Osinbajo’s ambition, his fans have continued to associate the nation’s second citizen with him.

Before the Easter celebrations, posters showing Osinbajo as Judas Iscariot, the iconic Biblical character who betrayed Jesus Christ with a kiss that ultimately led to his execution, appeared on the internet.

Social media users were outraged by the analogy, calling Tinubu’s followers “blasphemers” for comparing the former Lagos State Governor to Jesus.

Tinubu’s Media Office responded with a statement denying responsibility for the posters.

They accused those opposed to the former governor’s ambition of printing and posting them and also accused Tinubu of blasphemy.

While describing Tinubu as a religious tolerant individual, the Media Office pointed out that the APC stalwart is married to a Christian and an ordained pastor, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
