On Wednesday, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) set a price of $100 million for presidential nomination and expression of interest forms.
Felix Morka, the party’s national publicity secretary, stated this following the 11th National Executive Meeting in Abuja.
The nomination form would cost 70 million dollars, while the expression of interest form will cost 30 million dollars, according to the APC.
Women are entitled to free nomination forms, but must pay for their expression of interest forms, according to Morka.
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has set a target of 40 million votes for its presidential candidate.
The nomination form costs 35 million dollars, while the expression form costs 5 million dollars.
In a related development, APC on Wednesday ruled out consensus mode to choose its presidential candidate, ahead of the 2023 general election.
The party, however, stated that it would choose its presidential candidate through an indirect primary.
