Opeyemi Kadiri, a police officer, was fired for gross misconduct after he was seen looking through a commuter’s phone by the side of the road in defiance of the Inspector-General of Police’s orders.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the discharged officer who joined the force on December 6, 2016, with the number 509745, and who was assigned to Dolphin Divisional Headquarters, beat the commuter who tried to alert him to the order.

His termination, according to the Nigeria Police Force, is effective as of today, August 12, 2022.

Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the spokesperson for the Force, further advised the personnel of the Force to uphold professionalism and courtesy toward members of the public in the performance of their responsibilities in accordance with extant laws.

He also urges the general public to act appropriately at all times when they interact with police personnel to avoid offenses that could result in legal action.

According to report, a Nigerian police officer who was shown in a viral video thrashing a citizen with a cutlass has been fired.

Nigerians quickly voiced their outrage and demanded justice after learning that PC Liyomo Okoi, the wrongdoing officer, was shown in the video on July 31, 2022.

No Promotion As Magu Set To Retire From Police Force Amid Gross Misconduct Allegation

Usman Alkali Baba, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), exhibited interest in the case last week and called Liyomo to his Abuja office.

The force’s spokeswoman, Muyiwa Adejobi, said in a tweet on Friday that the IGP had summoned Liyomo to Abuja on Thursday and denounced him for his actions.
