The hearing for Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader, was postponed by the Supreme Court on Thursday until the next month.
Aloy Ejimakor, Kanu’s Special Counsel, tweeted on the Supreme Court’s ruling.
“Unfortunately, the Supreme Court has postponed the #MNK appeal hearing to next month,” tweeted Ejimakor.
The Supreme Court previously heard Kanu’s petition about his ongoing imprisonment at the Department of State Services, DSS, facility in Abuja, according to earlier news reports.
The appeal was made against the Court of Appeal’s judgment, which on October 28 2022 suspended the execution of its previous ruling staying all charges against him and ordering his release from the secret service’s custody.
Prior to the hearing, Kanu’s Special Counsel pleaded with the Supreme Court to guarantee justice in the IPOB leader’s trial and emphasized that his case should be resolved right away.
