Athan Achonu, the Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Imo State, has won his polling unit by a huge margin despite the poor turnout in the ongoing election.
There were 216 accredited voters from the 734 registered voters in the polling location where Achonu voted.
The LP candidate’s polling station is at Umunumo hamlet, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area.

Achonu received 197 votes, while the current governor’s candidate, All Progressives Congress, APC, Hope Uzodinma, received only 16 votes. Three votes were reported to be invalid.
