Fani Kayode Reveals Those Responsible For Kaduna, Borno Abductions, Attacks

Femi Fani-Kayode, the former minister of aviation, has said that forces both inside and outside of Nigeria are coordinating the recent attacks and kidnappings that have occurred there.

He asserted that the kidnappings were an attempt to topple the government and disrupt Nigeria, and that the country must rise to the challenge and find the abductors as soon as possible.

Following reports that Islamist militants had kidnapped dozens of women in Borno State and more recently in Kuriga, Kaduna State, where at least 280 schoolgirls had been taken from their schools, Fani-Kayode made her statement.

Kidnapped Nigerian Students Who Are Still With Their Kidnappers Weeks After

In a post on his X account on Friday, the former Minister declared that he called for the extrajudicial killing and summary execution of all terrorists and kidnappers in the nation, and he strongly denounced such ignominious and cowardly seizures.

He said: “Events in Gamboru Ngala in Borno State, Northern Nigeria where dozens of women were abducted by Islamist terrorists a few days ago and in Kuriga, Kaduna state where no less than 280 school girls were abducted from their school again by Islamist terrorists in the early hours of this morning are deeply troubling.

“My heart goes out to the women and young girls that were kidnapped, to their husbands, parents and relatives, to Governor Uba Sani (@ubasanius) of Kaduna, to Governor Babagana Zulum (@ProfZulum) of Borno and to the leaders, traditional rulers and people of both states.

“I wholeheartedly condemn these shameful and cowardly abductions and I call for the summary execution and extra judicial elimination of all terrorists and kidnappers.

Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode harshly denounced the conduct of certain Igbos who show support for Israel’s actions in Gaza, pointing out specifically the harm done to women and children.

Fani-Kayode called attention to the contradiction, emphasising that a large number of Igbo people suffered significantly from the 1967–1970 Nigerian Civil War, which resulted in a high death toll and ethnic cleansing.

The former minister voiced his opinions on his X platform on Monday, highlighting the contradiction that some Igbo people openly support Israel despite the historical similarities to their own predicament, even if they identify as Jewish and even practise Judaism.

In light of the agonising historical traumas that the Igbo community has undergone, Fani-Kayode considered this position to be completely unacceptable.

“As a sign and symbol of solidarity with Israel and the atrocities they are committing in Gaza, some of them erroneously call themselves the Jews of Africa, some have adopted the Jewish faith, whilst others call themselves Zionists.

“This is totally and completely unacceptable, and it is most unfortunate,” his post partly read.

Fani-Kayode Defends DSS Boss Over Allegations Of Embezzling Agencies Grant

Femi Fani-Kayode, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserted that the Department of State Services prevented attempts to undermine Nigeria’s democracy when President Muhammadu Buhari was in office.

In a statement released on Monday, the former minister of aviation addressed a charge made against Yusuf Magaji Bichi, the director general of the DSS.

Jackson Ude, a well-known X user, had claimed that the DSS DG had embezzled a subsidy grant intended for service personnel.

Peter Afunanya, the service’s director of public relations and strategic communications, refuted the report, claiming that the agency had not been given any funding of such kind.

He challenged Ude to “come to Nigeria and go to the courts to prove all he has said against a hard-working & decent man and a dedicated servant of the Nigerian state.

“If he chooses to come, once on Nigerian soil, I will personally guarantee his safety”.

Femi Fani-Kayode, the former minister of aviation, has come under fire for his response to the ruling of the Appeal Court that removed Daudu Lawal, the Peoples Democratic Party’s governor of Zamfara State (PDP).

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was mandated to conduct new elections in three local governments after the Court of Appeal ruled that the March 18 governorship election in Zamfara was inconclusive.

The three-member panel of justices declared on Thursday that Governor Lawal’s win was void and that new elections be held in the Maradun, Birnin Magaji, and Bukuyun Local Government Areas.

Fani-Kayode responded to the news via X, congratulating Matawalle and applauding the court for having the guts to remove Dauda. She emphasised that the decision was the beginning process of returning a stolen mandate.

He applauded the judges on the panel and the judiciary as a whole for having the guts to follow the correct course of action and start the process of giving back the mandate that had been stolen.

In light of the accusations and derogatory remarks made against Matawalle in the media over the past few months, the former minister expressed hope that he will be back in office as governor following the rerun.

On social media, however, Fani-Kayode has drawn criticism from users for applauding the court decision despite knowing that the PDP won the election since he is a friend of the outgoing governor.

Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has chastised the Labour Party’s (LP) Vice Presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, over his remarks about President Bola Tinubu.

In a recent interview with Arise News, Baba-Ahmed remarked that, while he respects President Tinubu, he will continue to refer to him as a drug dealer.

Fani-Kayode responded on Thursday via his X handle, saying he was not surprised by Baba-Ahmed’s comment since he is “an embittered creature and sorry soul.”

The former minister added that five months after the 2023 presidential election, Baba-Ahmed, his principal, Peter Obi, and their supporters have still not recovered from their defeat at the polls and are still depressed.

Ahmad Gumi, a controversial Islamic scholar, has responded to calls for his arrest following a recent remark he made about Christians.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Gumi had earlier this week warned against entrusting Nigeria’s national security to Christians and people from the South, and added that President Bola Tinubu’s eight-year term would be terminated.

The preacher made this statement while criticising Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory, for hosting the Israeli ambassador to Nigeria in his office and for intending to work with Israel on security-related matters in Abuja.

The former Rivers State governor was referred to as a “satanic person” by Gumi.

The Muslim preacher warned that if the FCT and Israel worked together, Muslims would suffer.

Following the Islamic cleric’s remark, several organisations and individuals have demanded his immediate arrest for allegedly harming the reputation of Nigerian Christians.

Gumi should be detained, according to Ohanaeze Ndigbo, who called the cleric a “well-known associate of bandits” in response to Gumi’s remarks.

Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister of aviation, also demanded Gumi’s arrest, stating that Christians in Nigeria could not submit to anyone and that no rational Muslim would submit to the terrorist language of Gumi and his associates.

Dele Momodu, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, has stated that former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, is remaining silent on President Bola Tinubu’s certificate dispute because he cannot refute the forgery charge.

Recall that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar accused Tinubu of falsifying his diploma from Chicago State University (CSU) and submitting it to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Tinubu and Atiku’s teams have been at odds over the topic since it became public when a US Court ordered CSU to disclose the certificate to Atiku.

“Nobody can justify forgery, nobody! Lawyers know that anyway, so I’m sure that people like Fani-Kayde, know. They can’t justify it, that’s why they are all keeping quiet now.”

Momodu added that the president needs to apologise, and it is left for Nigerians to accept or not.
