According to the apex bank, Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, will not testify before the House of Representatives on Thursday.
Aisha Ahmad, the CBN’s Deputy Governor for Financial System Stability, will represent Emefiele.
The most recent letter the House got from Edward Adamu, Deputy Governor, Corporate Services, CBN, stated that Emefiele was sick and would not personally appear before the legislators.

Emefiele neglected to show up before the House on Tuesday for the second time.
The MPs delayed his presence for Thursday in the face of protests and criticism, insisting on the suspension of the cash withdrawal restrictions set by the national bank.
Emefiele had been called before the House to discuss the CBN’s most recent policy, which among other things put restrictions on cash withdrawals from Deposit Money Banks and other financial institutions.
During Wednesday’s plenary, Gbajabiamila read Amadu’s letter to the audience, and the lawmakers decided to accept Emefiele’s representation.
