Bola Tinubu’s choice of Kashim Shettima, the former governor of Borno State, as his running partner for the All Progressives Congress has drawn criticism from the Northern Elders Forum (NEF).
In response, NEF claimed that the APC presidential candidate would face three problems if they were to run as a Muslim-Muslim ticket in the 2023 election.
Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the NEF spokesman, predicted that Christians would defect after his choice of a Muslim running mate in a post on Twitter on Sunday.

Baba-Ahmed added that Tinubu’s presidential aspirations will be supported by all Muslims.
He stated that his election prospects will not change as a result of the former governor of Lagos State choosing Shettima as the APC’s vice presidential candidate.
In the post, Baba-Ahmed questioned whether our officials’ religious beliefs had any bearing on the way they govern.
The NEF spokesman wrote, “Now that BAT has decided on Muslim-Muslim, 3 things are possible: All Christians will walk away from his ticket.
