Is Odida Nnewichi About To be Ostracized From Nnewichi? – PG. Nnewichi Reacts

The President General of Nzuko-Ora Agamuiru Nnewichi, Hon. CY. Okolo has reacted to the statement purportedly made by Obi Nnewichi, His Highness, Obi George Onyekaba that he plans to ostracize Odida part of Nnewichi in all activities concerning Nnewichi.

The Statement which was credited to Obi Nnewichi, Obi George Onyekaba, was purportedly made by the Traditional Ruler when he was in meeting with stakeholders in Nnewi, the comment which emanated from the failure of Odida Nnewichi to obey the rotation formula of Nnewichi which saw to the election of Nnewi North State Constituency Member-Elect, Nonso Okafor.

Reacting to the comment while in an interview with Anaedoonline.com, The President General of Nzuko Agamnuiru Nnewi said that he considers the comment as a side talk which has no traditional backing.

He said, “I have full respect for the traditional ruler of our community, in fact I don’t like reacting to issues concerning his activities, but for the comment which was allegedly made by him, I myself also heard it but I consider it a side talk, it is not within the powers of our Obi to decide whether Odida community will remain part of Nnewichi”.

Speaking further he said, “Traditionally, Without Odida Community, there is no Nnewi, though Odida is the smallest part of Nnewi Nnewi cannot do without them, Odida holds a great position in Nnewi.

To elaborate his earlier declaration, the PG of Nnewichi Continued “In the past, anybody that will take Ozo Title in Nnewi must come to Odida Nnewichi, we have some “Ofo” that has big relevance to Nnewi Traditionally. Our Obi can ostracize somebody from Odida community but not Odida as a community, regard that comment as a side talk, please.
